Tesla Rental in La Jolla

We rent Teslas in La Jolla and bring the car to you. Our cars are parked a few minutes away in Sorrento Valley, so a delivery to La Jolla Shores, the Village, Bird Rock or a house up on Mount Soledad is a short hop rather than a cross-town trek. You book online, we hand the car over where you're staying, and we collect it from the same place when you're done.

Delivery in La Jolla

Tell us the address at checkout — a hotel on Prospect Street, a rental near the Cove, a house in Bird Rock, an office at UTC or on the Torrey Pines mesa — and the price is quoted before you pay. There is no counter to find and no shuttle to catch. If you're flying in first, we also deliver to San Diego International for $199 for the whole trip, and that price covers the airport parking and access fees, so nothing more is due on the day.

Prefer to collect it yourself? You're welcome to pick the car up from us in Sorrento Valley at no charge. From there you're about ten minutes from La Jolla Shores.

Why an EV makes sense in La Jolla

Most La Jolla driving is short and local — the Village, the Shores, Torrey Pines, UCSD, Westfield UTC — and that is the pattern an electric car handles best. You are not stopping for gas on a four-mile trip, and the 150 miles a day included in every rental goes a long way when the coast road is your commute.

It works for the longer days too. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is minutes up the road, the 101 runs north through Del Mar and Encinitas to Carlsbad, and Autopilot with adaptive cruise takes the tedium out of I-5 when it backs up. The panoramic glass roof is a better view of the coast than most cars will give you.

The cars

Five Teslas, all recent, all with Autopilot, heated seats and the 15-inch center display. The 2025 Model Y RWD in Stealth Grey is the efficiency pick and the one most guests take for a week or more. The 2025 Model Y AWD in Ultra Red is the quickest. Two 2024 Model Ys in Pearl White cover rear- and all-wheel drive, and a 2022 Model 3 in Solid Black is the lowest daily rate in the fleet. Model Y rentals start at $99 a day and the Model 3 at $89.

Full Self-Driving can be added to any car for $100 for the trip if you want to try it on the freeway.

What it costs

The daily rate is the daily rate — there's no booking fee. On top of it: 150 miles a day are included and extra miles are $0.50 each; a $300 refundable deposit is held at pickup and released after you return the car; and you either drive on your own policy, if it covers rental vehicles, or add our coverage at checkout — Collision Damage Waiver at $15 a day and liability protection at $22 a day. Return the car at roughly the charge it arrived with, or add prepaid charging once for $45 and bring it back at any level.

Cancellations are free up to 48 hours before your start time. Inside 48 hours, one day's rate is charged and the rest is refunded. The full list is on every car page and in our FAQs.

Charging around La Jolla

The car's own map shows live Supercharger availability and will route you to one with a charging stop built into the directions, which is the easiest way to do it. Plenty of La Jolla hotels and rentals also have a standard outlet or a destination charger, and overnight on a normal plug is usually enough to cover a day of local driving.

What you need

A driver aged 21 or over, a valid driver's license and a credit card in the same name. Additional drivers are welcome but need to be there at pickup with the same documents. That's it.
