Tesla Rental in Carlsbad

We rent Teslas in Carlsbad and deliver them to you. The cars are based in Sorrento Valley, about twenty-five miles south, so a run up the 5 to a hotel on the bluff, a rental in the Village or a house near Batiquitos Lagoon is straightforward. Book online, we bring the car to your address, and we collect it from the same place at the end.

Delivery in Carlsbad

Enter your Carlsbad address at checkout and the delivery price is quoted before you pay — the Village, Tamarack, Ponto, La Costa, Bressi Ranch or one of the resorts along the coast. Flying into San Diego International first? We'll meet you at the terminal for $199 for the whole trip, airport parking and access fees included, which is usually easier than collecting a car at the airport and driving it north anyway.

You can also collect from us in Sorrento Valley at no charge if you're already in the county.

Built for the coast road

Carlsbad is where the 101 is at its best, and a quiet electric car with a glass roof is a good way to drive it. Head north through Oceanside or south through Leucadia and Encinitas to Del Mar; either direction is a morning well spent. Every rental includes 150 miles a day, which covers a lot of coast.

It suits the practical days too. LEGOLAND California, the Flower Fields in spring, Batiquitos Lagoon, the beach at Tamarack — most of it is a short drive with a car seat's worth of trunk space to spare, between the deep rear trunk and the front trunk. And if you're commuting down to San Diego on I-5, Autopilot with lane keeping and adaptive cruise makes rush hour considerably less tiring.

The cars

Five recent Teslas, all with Autopilot, heated seats and the 15-inch center display. The 2025 Model Y RWD in Stealth Grey has the best real-world range in the fleet and is the usual pick for longer stays. The 2025 Model Y AWD in Ultra Red is the quickest. Two 2024 Model Ys in Pearl White cover rear- and all-wheel drive, and a 2022 Model 3 in Solid Black is the cheapest way in. Model Ys start at $99 a day, the Model 3 at $89.

Full Self-Driving is $100 for the trip on any of them.

What it costs

No booking fee — the daily rate is the daily rate. Alongside it: 150 miles a day included and $0.50 for each extra mile; a $300 refundable deposit held at pickup and released on return; and coverage either from your own policy, if it covers rental vehicles, or ours at checkout — Collision Damage Waiver at $15 a day, liability protection at $22 a day. Bring the car back at roughly the charge it came with, or add prepaid charging once for $45 and return it at any level.

Cancel free up to 48 hours before your start time; inside 48 hours it's one day's rate and the rest comes back to you. Every car page carries the complete list, and so do our FAQs.

Charging in North County

Use the car's own map — it shows live Supercharger availability and will build a charging stop into your route, which is far simpler than planning it yourself. Many Carlsbad hotels and vacation rentals have a destination charger or at least an outdoor outlet, and an overnight trickle charge is usually enough for a day of local driving.

What you need

A driver aged 21 or over, a valid license and a credit card in the same name. Extra drivers are fine — they just need to be present at pickup with the same documents.
